Eugene Ionesco

Eugene IonescoEugen Ionesco was born in Slatina, Romania to the Romanian lawyer, called Eugen Ionescu. andThérèse Ipcar. He was known as great dramatist and Playwright. He made his debut in the poetic world by Bilete de papagal (parrot-notes) in 1928. He wrote many articles for the reviews Vremea (Time), Azi (Today), Floarea de Foc (Flower of Fire), Viata Literara (Literary Life), România Literara (Literary Romania), the weekly antifascist magazine Critica, Axa (the Axis), Fapta (the Fact), Ideea, Româneasca and Zodiac. Later in 1948, he shifted his focus to plays. He is known as one of the great dramatists of the 20th century.
